Jeremias Prayer Update

UPDATE Friday Afternoon:

Hi all,

After unsuccessfully trying to obtain info by phone, I made a trip in to find out what I could this morning about Jeremias.

I entered Casa Kairos and after greeting Naomí, Jeremias and his mom came out with BIG smiles on their faces!

Jeremias returned from the hospital last night. He looks pretty good although a little weak.

He needs to just rest and eat, to regain strength. Doctors told him to eat lots of fruit.

If he is strong enough, they plan to return to their home on Tuesday. Their next doctor appointment is for May 4.

Jeremias asked me to sing “Levanta su casa” with him, so we did (good thing not many people around…not real pretty . Then I made him promise to obey his mom when she tells him he needs to eat. I gave them some funds to buy more fruit, there’s not much fruit around the house.

So…hopefully, I will not see him next week when we go in to sing, as that will mean he was strong enough to travel home.

 

Please, keep praying, he looks better but this is a good reminder of how important our continual prayers for all the families at Kairos are.

The ministry of Kairos House has often been called a ministry of tears and I have never once wondered why. I personally have walked through and processed the challenges that I personally faced during my various visits to Kairos and Roosevelt Hospital. I spent several months experience culture shock and flashbacks like I had never known after a visit about four years ago. All that to say, today is no different. It will always be a house of love and hope, but it is also a place where prayers and tears are poured out on behalf of the children and families.

 Today I received word that Jeremias is in intensive care. It’s been just under a year since I last saw Jeremias, but I have friends who have been able to see him and keep me up to date on how he is doing. I would like to ask you to pray for Jeremias as he is in ICU and is really struggling to have the will to live and has lost hope. Pray that he would experience peace, comfort and relief from the pain he is experiencing. May he experience God’s comfort in very real and tangible ways during this time. Pray too for his mother and others who are close to him.
