A Great Weekend Away…A Breath of Fresh Air!

This past weekend I had the privileged to go with some friends to visit a dear friend of ours in Memphis.  It was quite the adventure to say the least, but such a blessing.  We spent about 7.5 hours laughing our way up to Memphis and about 4 hours on the way home (yes, the trip was about 8 hours…but we were all a little more tired on the way home).

We went to see our friend Christy who had recently moved back to Memphis.  It was great to get the chance to just be away and play for the weekend.  In all honesty, I was not sure I had it in me before the weekend, but in the end I had a great time and really enjoyed spending time with everyone.  It was a nice reminder of the joy and comfort that friends and family bring.

It was great to see where our friend lives, works, and worships, as well as to meet some of those who she is getting to know and spending time with there in Memphis.

Saturday night we went to a worship service for Christy’s church.  It was such a blessing to be there with that group and to be able to spend my birthday in that way!  The day started with a great breakfast and ended with worship, Memphis BBQ and cheesecake…what more could I ask?  I’m among those most richly blessed!

So, I thought I had a lot more to say on this post.  Pero se me fue el avion!

Main Points:

• I have great friends
• I loved the break away from Dallas
• I came back exhausted and yet somehow refreshed

I know there is more, but it may need to wait for another time…when my head is not focused on the pillow and blankets that I pulled out today (it’s cold).
